Exploring a New Vision for Mental Health Support”

I’ve been thinking a lot about mental health, community, and how we can better support one another. Over the past couple of years, I’ve faced my own challenges, including unemployment, isolation, and navigating mental health struggles. Through it all, I’ve realized how much a supportive, inclusive community can mean but I’ve also noticed how many barriers exist when it comes to accessing help or even finding a space (that works for me) to connect.

Right now, this is just an idea I’m exploring, not a business, not a structured plan, just something I’m fiddling with. My goal is to understand what people truly want in a mental health support space, what’s missing, and what’s most needed. If this idea ever takes shape, the first goal would be to create a sustainable community that provides real impact, valuable resources, and a space where people feel seen and supported.

The ultimate dream? Finding a way to offer free therapy, whether through funding, donations, or other means. I’m still in the early stages of researching what’s possible and navigating the legalities, but the vision is rooted in making mental health support more accessible, especially for low-income people. Hell, I couldn’t afford therapy when I had a well-paying job.

To move forward, I need your help. Have you ever joined a mental health group, used an app, or participated in a support community? Or maybe you’ve searched for one and struggled to find something that vibed with you. What worked? What didn’t? What would you love to see in a space like this?

I’ve created a short survey to gather input, and I’d truly appreciate your feedback. Your ideas and insights could help shape something meaningful, even if it’s still just a concept.
