Freedom From Nostalgia: Mexico

Hey, I’m Dax. Born and raised in Los Angeles, I always thought I’d live there forever. But as life has unfolded and the grind has worn me down, I’ve started to question why I’m settling for just “getting by” in California, even with a decent job. That’s when Mexico began to catch my eye—not just as a getaway, but as a real option for living.

Mexico has always been close, just two hours from where I’ve lived my entire life, but it wasn’t until recently that I allowed myself to look past the American propaganda. After visiting a few times as an adult, something clicked. The culture, the affordability, and the proximity to home started to paint a different picture.

This vlog is the beginning of a journey. I don’t know exactly where it will take me, but I’m excited to explore a country I’ve lived so close to for years but am only now truly getting to know. Maybe it’s the first step toward something bigger, like moving to Tijuana to save money and experience living abroad without straying too far from home. Or it’s just the start of some great adventures. Either way, I’m here to explore, reflect, and share the experience.
